Nagios Exchange is a central place for Nagios Community members and contributors to find a share Nagios projects of all kinds - plugins, addons, documentation, extensions and more. FAQsEthan Galstad - "Father of Nagios" and Founder of Nagios Enterprises - answers some questions about Nagios Exchange. Why was this site created?Simple. There was no official Nagios site that provided similar functionality. For many years I listed community-contributed addons directly on the Nagios downloads page. I decided that Nagios Enterprises needs to provide the Nagios Community with an awesome official site for Nagios projects. So here we are! I can't find the plugin or addon I'm looking for - What do I do?There are hundreds of addons and plugins for Nagios - try a Google search to find the what you're looking for. When you find it, create an account here and post it on this site for others in the future. You'll generate good karma and feel great to boot! How do I upload a new plugin or addon? Thanks for helping out! Here's how you upload:
I found my plugin or addon on this site - How can I manage it?First off, kudos to you for being awesome and contributing to the success of Nagios! In order to claim a project as your own, you'll need to do the following:
Once we verify your claim of ownership you'll be able to manage your project from here on out. Keep the information updated and the Nagios Community will thank you for your great efforts! I can't figure out which category to post my project in - What do I do?Not a problem. We review submissions when they come in, so we can place your listing in the appropriate categories. Most categories have an "Others" category where you can post miscellaneous projects if you're not sure. We'll look at these uncategorized listings on a regular basis and move them into their proper categories. My project belongs in more than one category - How should I handle this?Add the project to the most relevant category. Once you add a listing, you have the option of having it listed in multiple categories. For example, a Linux plugin to check system load could go into "Linux" and "CPU Usage and Load" categories. I can't upload files of more than 1MB in sizeWe're working on that and will hopefully have the file size limit increased soon. If you need to host larger files on our site, email us at exchange at nagios.org and we'll get you set up. Who built this site? Who runs it?Nagios Enterprises built the bulk of the site infrastructure and is responsible for its maintenance. We can't take all the credit though. First and foremost, it's the Nagios Community that gets the most kudos for building so many great addons for Nagios. We received inspiration and assistance from many of our great partners and others in order to bring this site to fruition. This site is a testament to true community, great partners, and good people. Rock on. DisclaimerAlthough we love the projects on this site, we have to officially disclaim any liability when it comes to those projects. So here goes...
