As /usr/sbin/hddtemp has to be run by root, there are two manual tweaks to do to have it run properly.
First add sudo in /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/contrib/check_lm_sensors at the command issued at line 29O (in the revision 1030) :
my $command = "$hddtemp_bin -n /dev/$name";
changes to ->
my $command = "sudo $hddtemp_bin -n /dev/$name";
Then edit the sudoers file to add an authorization to the nagios user for sudoing this peculiar command :
nagios ALL=(root) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/hddtemp
(if your nagios user is not called nagios, please update accordingly)
And that's all.
