Run it against the active F5.

Alert will go out if failover occurs or status changes to one of the following - forcedoffline, offline, unknown, standby.
Usage: check_bigip_active_status -H -C


Add the following to commands.cfg
define command{
command_name check_bigip_active_status
command_line $USER1$/check_bigip_active_status -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -C $ARG1$
}

Define the service as follows.
define service{
host F5_hostname
service_description F5 active status check
servicegroups F5_pool
check_command check_bigip_active_status!snmp_string
max_check_attempts 2
contact_groups contact_group
}
