Nagios Plugin to check the Heap used on a single Cassandra node using nodetool.

Can specify a remote host and port otherwise it checks the local node's stats (for calling over NRPE on each Cassandra node)

Written and tested against Cassandra 2.0, DataStax Community Edition

usage: check_cassandra_heap.pl [ options ]

-n --nodetool Path to 'nodetool' command if not in $PATH (/bin:/usr/bin)
-H --host Cassandra node to connect to (optional, default: localhost)
-P --port Cassandra JMX port to connect to (default: 7199)
-u --user Cassandra JMX User (optional)
-p --password Cassandra JMX Password (optional)
-w --warning Warning threshold max % Heap used (inclusive. Default: 80)
-c --critical Critical threshold max % Heap used (inclusive. Default: 90)
-h --help Print description and usage options
-t --timeout Timeout in secs (default: 10)
-v --verbose Verbose mode (-v, -vv, -vvv ...)
-V --version Print version and exit
