This plugin lets you test the icmp/ping times to the next hop of a router. This is useful if you have a router that get's it's IP address via DHCP and is assigned it's default router via DHCP.
I threw this script together really quickly to see if it would work, so please feel free to make it better or tailored to your installation/setup.
Please note you may need to change some settings in the check_next_hop.pl depending on your system as it relies on Nagios' check_icmp plugin.
I have tested this with a Cisco router and it works, but not sure about other brands.
